About

Hi, I’m Claire – and I see you.

Claire, a Christian family therapist and parent coach specializing in trauma-informed parenting, supporting emotional health and attachment-based therapy for adoptive families.

You’re showing up, day after day… but it feels like nothing is working.

You’ve tried:

  • More Structure
  • More Discipline
  • More Consequences

Still, your child’s behaviours feel out of control—and you’re running on empty.
Not just tired. Disconnected. Numb. Guilty. Like something broke inside.

💔 I’ve been there—both professionally and personally.

I help Christian adoptive parents who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in survival mode rediscover connection, calm, and confidence — even when nothing else has worked.

Through trauma-informed support, neuroscience education, and compassionate community, I offer a lifeline to parents in the trenches — especially those who love deeply but feel ashamed, exhausted, or unsure how to keep going.

Because parenting a child with trauma isn’t about fixing behaviours. It’s about healing relationships — starting with your own nervous system.

You’re not failing. You’re not alone. And there is a way forward — one step, one breath, one moment of connection at a time.

As a mental health therapist and former child welfare professional, I’ve supported countless families navigating trauma and big behaviours. I used to believe that if we just found the right strategy, things would finally get better.

But what I discovered is this:
Children don’t just need interventions. They need safe, connected relationships.
And for that to happen — you need support too.

That’s when I learned about something most professionals never name: Blocked care.
It’s not failure. It’s a nervous system in survival.
It’s your body’s way of saying, I cant keep doing this alone.

🧠 That’s where neuroscience brings clarity.
🙏 That’s where faith brings compassion.
🤝 And that’s where true healing begins.

As a parent myself of a child with a nervous system sensitivity, I know what it’s like to feel like you’re drowning in the very life you prayed for.

Today, I support adoptive parents who feel stuck, burned out, or emotionally distant — helping them move out of blocked care and into calm, confident connection with their kids.

This is the work of rewiring – not just your child’s nervous system, but your own.

You’re not broken. You’re not failing.
You’re in survival. And you don’t have to stay there.

Let’s walk this healing path together — with tools grounded in science, faith, and grace.

I’m Claire Esikalam, founder of myCaRE&CO — a space where adoptive parents find grounded support and neuroscience-based tools, to guide them through the overwhelm of blocked care and back into renewed connection after adoption, where healing can begin.

I’ve walked closely with families through big behaviours, blocked care, and the moments no one posts about. And I know firsthand: when your nervous system is in survival mode, connection can feel out of reach… even with the child you deeply love.

My work integrates neuroscience, trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and faith-rooted support to help parents return to calm — and rebuild the connection their children need to heal.

I’m a licensed teacher, social worker, and therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting families and children. But I’m also someone who knows the exhaustion that comes when nothing seems to work.

This is the space I wish every adoptive parent had: A place where your nervous system matters too, and you don’t have to choose between faith, science, and real-life parenting support.
